The LCDtest application is simple, yet effective. Testing one pixel at a time will minimize any delays and allow you to spot back or stuck pixels right away.

LCDtest can test 16 colors in four quadrants on your display. Just scroll through the color selector and test each one for one second. Note the test results as they come in and follow the steps below.

If the test fails, it means one of the pixels is bad. Turn the monitor off and on again and try again.

If the red transistor is stuck open or closed, examine that resistor. If you know how to fix it, change it.

If the test fails, your monitor is probably not capable of passing the test due to a bad circuit board.

Note: LCDtest has been tested to run successfully on all monitors.
