Verify email validation using model binding in ASP.Net MVC

I’m developing an ASP.Net MVC web application and I’m having trouble validating an email address using model binding on MVC. I’m not using any view helpers and I’m not sure if I want to use a view helper to help. I’ve tried the solutions below:

Microsoft MVC 3 – Preventing empty or non-alphanumeric strings
Validate Model in Razor MVC

The web application is a prototype so I can easily change the code to any given solution I decide to use.
The problem I’m running into is that the BindModel is just spitting out the invalid email as an empty string and the rest of the fields show up as missing values in the exception. Below is my view:
